Val Chillmer is a 5-piece funk, fusion, and modern yacht rock band based out of the Denver and Northern Colorado area. Their music consists of smooth grooves, shredding solos, and vivacious vocals, playing selections from Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, and modern spins on classic artists like The Bee Gees and Bill Withers.

It all started when 5 strangers found common ground in their love for jazz. The five friends met in the Colorado music scene as both teachers and performers, when they each discovered they all went to the same school and graduated from the same music program (but at different times). After sitting around some pizza and talking about Brian Blade, jamming in Zack’s basement, and playing some tunes for Val’s hairstylist’s birthday party, they discovered their chemistry.
